This is an interesting autobiography, but left me unsatisfied. The accounts of his early life are very interesting, as are the chapters recounting his political persuasions & the resulting fallout...but, the endless partying & hobnobbing with the elite became tedious for me. I am a massive fan of Laurel & Hardy, so was hoping for a little cross referencing there as Chaplin travelled to the States with Stan Laurel...but there was only a cursory mention at the beginning. Not that I'd mark the book down because of that, as it's Chaplin's life we're supposed to be reading about, but I felt this was glossed over nevertheless.

Chaplin was a very funny & intelligent man, but I was hoping his autobiography might have been a bit more, well, humourous I suppose.
