This book came well recommended but I must confess I was a little disappointed. Although Elizabeth Berg takes pains to commend Weight Watchers, she seems to use this as permission to turn right around and diss the group. I found her laments about dieting to be half hearted and mildly ha-ha. 'Poor me I am trying to lose weight because society has imposed this unrealistic body expectation on me and I'm miserable.' 'When I eat garbage I am so much happier and really a better person too because every one knows thin women are really demons underneath it all.'
