Faithless: Tales of Transgression by Joyce Carol Oates
Hmm - I wasn't all that impressed with my first experience with Oates. As with any collection of short pieces, some are going to pull the pack up and others are going to drag it down. I liked the overall variety but the idea that each had a common thread of faithlessness was a little too stretched for me. I thought several of the characters blended together and at some points found myself thinking the writing to be very one note.
