Mossman is a genius who drifted into mental illness shortly after writing this book. He was hailed in the same breath as Dylan Thomas, Mark Twain, Bernard Malamud, J.D. Salinger, and Philip Roth. This book is a big, thick masterpiece, and a great one to take to the beach. It does require concentration and a "go with the flow" reader, but it is worth it.
