What a surprising book! I was expecting a more traditional realistic fiction story, with heartbreak and whatnot. Instead I got action and adventure, and I liked it. In fact, I found it hard to put the book down--I ended up finishing it in less than 24 hours.

While this book is fast paced and action packed, it still touches on a lot of serious issues: growing up, father/son relationships and (view spoiler) Even with these serious issues being present in the book, the tone is light and it won't make you depressed.

The ending was satisfying, but left me wanting more. I really hope to see more with these characters.
