A nice light quick read. Not the hard-hitting case study type company history that I was looking for, but definitely some good tips along the way. Probably a bit discouraging for some entrepreneurs since one of the key elements of success (besides incredibly hard-working founders!) was that a key tech angel investor started the whole process and two extremely talented tech guys were already on board. The combination of a tech angel investor's rolodex and the As fashion rolodex was a powerful component in their initial success.
Having said that, the story of Gilt is still an ongoing process and this book gives a great insight into how the founders view their first few years. No matter where Gilt goes in the future (up or down), this perspective will never be the same. I think I'll put the book aside for a few years, then go back to it to see if it reads differently.
