Another very enjoyable read by this Icelandic author. Completely different from the last one. In this book yet another inspector was the main character. The story runs simultaneous to the last book, different crimes to solve, different inspectors to solve them. In the previous book the main character was a sympathetic female in a happy marriage and teenage kids acting up. In this book the main character was not so sympathetic, especially in the beginning of the book, but he grows on you. At least, that was the case with me. There were several stories to tell in this book, all worthwhile. Both books lead up to the next book, when his usual inspector, Erlendur will be on the main stage again. I presume the events in that book will also take place simultaneously to this and the previous book. Very nicely done!
