A beautifully gently written novel of a young woman who broke horses in 1917. Based on facts, I learned that young women often used methods more like what we consider horse whisperer techniques. She lined up six ranches and rode from dawn to dark changing horses at each ranch and giving them their lesson on the trip to the next ranch. The description of the Oregon mountain area reminded me of Zane Grey - and she did mention that author in her story. Love the thought of horses and loved this book.
