If you have not seen Malcolm Gladwell on John Stewart or Stephen Colbert, you have missed out. He is the perfect talk show guest with provocative ideas, a keen wit, and a slightly odd demeanor.

His latest book, Outliers, examines the historical and cultural trends surrounding the world's most successful people in an attempt to explain that individual achievement and talent are not the only factors which influence success.

I found this book a fascinating read-- certainly a must read for teachers and parents who are invested in the future success of young people. This is not a dry academic tome, but a pleasurable read with all of the qualities that make Gladwell such an interesting talk show guest--great storytelling and humor-- all backed up by scientific research.
