This novel was promising at the start, but the plot became a bit too absurd for my tastes. The author tries to walk too fine a line between comedy and mystery/thriller. Considering the implausible action scenes and the cardboard characters (other than the erasable geezer ex-cop) this might have made a good comic book. I purchased Don't Ever Get Old based on several positive reviews, even though I was suspicious after learning that my local Barnes & Noble had no plans to stock it on their shelves.
