Wow, this is not at all what I excpected from a Sparks novel. I would probably call this more of a suspense book than a romance or romantic suspense.

This was almost 3 different books in one for me. I found the first 3rd a little bit slow, especially in regards to drawing me in. I actually wrestled with putting the book down and reading something else instead...I am glad that my paitence was rewarded with a nice read. Anyway I struggled to connect with Julie, Mike & Richard...I sympathized with Julies plight, but found Mike a little shy/bland & Richard was very self centered and controlling. I was glad when Julie decided to choose the nice guy. Everyone can root for the nice guy that listens to a womans problem only to not get chosen...here he finally does. It was at this point that I began to connect with Mike & julie, although what followed was a lackluster romance...and if not for the fact that Sparks put them in bed together, as he must do with every couple who cannot fall in love first and copulate later, I would not have even realized their was any passion in their relationship at all...as a romance this would be a major fail IMHO...but the suspense/stalking that transpires over the last third of the book drew me in completely.

Due to the slow start, and sluggish appeal of the characters I cannot go 5 stars, but don't be misled this a very fast, quick and cool read.

J.N. I remember really liking this one, though I can't remember a thing about it.

Mark Soone Next on my list, hope to start it tonight or tomorrow. Glad to hear you liked it..it sounds interesting enough...I see you marked True Believer as to read, I just finished it and it ranks among my favorites by Sparks.

J.N. I remember reading True Believer as well but again, can't remember a thing about it. I used to read his books in between classes during college. When I wasn't devouring Stephen King, that is.
