Stolen Prey (Lucas Davenport, #22)
by John Sandford
by John Sandford
Sandford has been getting better with each release, it seems. Instead of his stories or characters getting stale or old-hat, the opposite has held true, and this one is no exception.
The last Lucas Davenport tale was one of my favorites out of the 20+ stories, with a great extended flashback to when he was a beat cop in Minneapolis. This new one incorporates some of what we learned in that look back, while bringing the modern Lucas and his new family back into the present.
As quick a read as is usually the case, I was glad to have even a brief appearance by "that f-ing Virgil Flowers..." Can't wait to read another of his stories and see what he's been up to.
