Andrew's review
East of Eden (Centennial Edition) by John Steinbeck
There aren't many books out there--at least that I've read--that portray the complicated dynamics of brotherhood, family, the forces of evil, and man's relationship to his agricultural landscape more skillfully than Steinbeck. I know that's a lot to tackle, but it's all here. If you're looking for a piece of literature imbued with great wisdom, a book you can walk away from with unforgettable lines and scenes, read this. You'll be a better person for it.
I know that you're seriously enjoying East of Eden and that it's likely you'll be inclined to give it 5 stars when you've completed it but I'm still weirded out by your premature rating. By the way, I like you very much.
