I love a good road trip story. There is something about being in a car with another person that tells a special, honest, and interesting story. In Honor was one of those stories. I really loved the journey Honor was taking, trying to honor her recently deceased brother Finn, with his estranged best friend Rusty. I loved how Jessi Kirby wrote it, her brother really came alive through the story. As the their trip goes on, they learn more about Finn, and the sacrifices he made, and truly learn more about one another.

That beind said, I didn't give it a higher rating because of two things. 1) I wished Honor had done more in the end. (view spoiler) She learned the truth about why Finn enlisted, so I was expecting her to take some of the things he said to heart and for once take care of someone else, just do something! Her lack of action was infuriating! 2) I felt like the ending was rushed, (view spoiler) It was a whirlwind, I wish there was more time to develop it fully, to give us some clarity about their relationship. I felt like it kept building throughout the story, but it never peaked, it just plateaued

I could go either way with this book. I wanted to really like, but it just didn't do it for me unfortunately.
