This is a fun new series by Cabot for younger girls. Cabot gave a presentation at the Mar 2008 PLA conference and talked about how she wanted a series her younger fans (and their parents) could read that had a spunky girl who was good at math and science that girls could relate to. She promised it would always be clean for the younger readers. The first book in the series lives up to her promises. Allie is a fun character dealing with her family moving to an older "scary" house, trying to keep the peace with her old friends and make new ones. This should be a hit with younger girls who liked the Princess Diary movies but are too young for some of that series' content.
