I found this trilogy to be just the sort of brainless page turners that I needed on vacation without devolving to into mass-market-paperback-land. My expectations were pretty low since we're talking about young adult novels, but I thought Collin's created a pretty intriguing world and told a good story. It's no Harry Potter, but it's certainly leagues above Twilight (yes, I read and enjoyed those too). She only occasionally lapses into the sentimental and extended pages where the protagonist doesn't get what's going on (while unbelievable) were forgivable.
