Yes, I admit it--I had my Ayn Rand phase just like any full-of-herself self-proclaimed genius just out of college. I discovered Ayn Rand along with my rooftoop in the early 90s--I read Atlas Shrugged in the summer of 1991 and The Fountainhead in the summer of 1992.
And then ... I got over it. I couldn't re-read either book even if I wanted to.
Seriously, if you're going to read her, read her young. When you start actually realizing that you're really not all that special--and that Rand is not likely talking about the likes of you, anyway--you realize that she's a rather tedious, disturbing read.
