3.5 stars
A most unusual circus: it comes to town unannounced and then is only open at night. Everything is done in black, white, and grey - from the tents to the costumes of the performers. Even the acts are unusual. Two people intimately connected to the theater are Marco and Celia. They have both been raised to compete in a magical battle. Unfortunately neither of them know the true parameters of the game and it brings about some harsh plot twists.

Well-written and very engaging. Read the chapter headings carefully for the timeline or things get a bit confusing.
