I read Tiffany Baker's first book, The Little Giant of Aberdeen County, and loved it. The Gilly Salt Sisters was a moving and descriptive story placed in a small Cape Code town full of rich characters. It is the story of two sisters who live and work a salt farm and a young girl who finds herself in the middle of a family secret. One of them can't wait to get away and the other is entwined there forever. It is the story of loves and loss. I love the descriptive talent that Tiffany Baker brings to an unusual story. I learned so much about salt, too, and how it is harvested. The story weaves love, tragedy, revenge, and desire as it brings the sisters full circle.
