Laurel and Jason's three sons are basically grown up; their oldest is actually already engaged to be married when Laurel's annual checkup gives them some unexpected news. At 45 and 46, they're about to become parents. Again.

While it was a quick and easy read, and while I am nearly of an age with Laurel, I found it a little hard to relate, maybe in part because my kids aren't as old as hers are yet; maybe her readiness to consign herself to the "I'm way too old" category is because she started so (relatively) young. So, I found it frustrating instead of enjoyable to read about her mindset.

Overall, not a bad story, just not one I foresee myself re-reading. And I certainly hope not to be living ;p
