Enjoyable read. Elizabeth Moon always seems to have a keen eye for detail -- especially around battle scenes. It has been some time since I've read #2 in this series, so I had a bit of trouble picking up the threads. I don't think this book stands on its own -- but I don't think it was designed to. I am certainly looking forward to reading the next one where a number of issues will be (hopefully) resolved.
