It has been a pleasant surprise to find this series as enjoyable as it is. Harris does a wonderful job integrating her paranormal universe of vampires, shapeshifters and Sookie, with her telepathic abilities, mingling in a small town in Louisiana. This series is not Anne Rice's vampire world, but an entertaining romp of romance, mystery and humor. I am glad I stumbled across Harris now rather than earlier because I have many more books to look forward to.
