Stay, by Deb Caletti, is a book about a girl Clara, who had a "love at first sight" relationship with Christian. Their relationship was seemingly perfect, until Christian started to get jealous when she talked, or let alone looked at other boys. He began to check that she wasn't lying to cheat on him when she said she said she was hanging out with friends. However, when Clara complains about this, Christian completely breaks down and says she is right: he does not deserve a girl like her. However, this devotion to Clara soon turns into rage and anger towards her. Christian calls her a slut and that she has never loved him; he says that Clara isn't satisfied with him and has sex with other men often. Clara doesn't know how what to make of this.

Clara and her dad move out of her city and go to Bishop Rock, a town that ironically reminds her of Christian everywhere she goes: there is a boat called Obsession, Deception Pass, and Possession Point. However, it is not just these landmarks that Clara associates with Christian. Everywhere she goes, something or someone reminds her of a memory. Clara soon learns that she will never be able to escape from Christian and he will never get over his obsession with her. Throughout the course of the book, Clara learns how to deal with Christian, more about her family history, and she finds a man that could repair her insecurity of relationships.

I really enjoyed this book. Of all the books I read this year, this book was the most believable. Every character had their own faults and made mistakes. There's no "good guy" or "bad guy" and I felt that I could relate to each character at some point in the book. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to anyone to read.
