This just like Voices of the Dead picks up quickly on. We meet two American Exchange Students McCabe and Chip, who start off spending time in a Italian jail. Chip's Senator father quickly mops up their mess. Little do either boy know that leads to McCabe being kidnapped thought to be the Senator's son. The tables turn quickly when McCabe decides to get the ransom money back. With the help of Angela the girl who used him to set up the kidnapping. The find themselves working together to get the money back.

Also Ray is looking for his wife who disappeared, he has found himself in Italy trying to track down his estranged wife, in hopes of fixing their marriage or seeing that Sharon his wife is ok or not. Which leads the stories to overlap. As Joey Palermo is knee deep in trying to get the ransom money from McCabe and flee with his girlfriend Sharon.

I enjoyed this story alot found it fast paced and moving along without slow areas. Definitely a great crime writer the world will love.
