The Assault on Reason by Albert Gore Jr.
I think had I read the book when it first came out I would have been more shocked by its revelations; as it stands it is a sobering litany of the Bush Administration's propensity for anti-democratic, anti-Constitutional actions and its failures as a government. There might be some hope in the book, but I'm too cynical to see it.
