There are words which could succinctly describe my reaction to this book. Alas, those are not words which are suitable for a public forum.

Hey Nostradamus is tangentially the story of a high school massacre and its aftermath, but is really so much more. It is told in parts by 4 characters: Cheryl in 1988, a teenager who is the last to die; Jason in 1999, Cheryl's significant other, who is still in love with her and heading down an incredibly self-destructive path; Heather in 2002, potentially Jason's salvation; and Reg in 2003, Jason's estranged father, seeking redemption.

Stylistically, and sometimes actually, the sections of the book are letters, but the stories they tell and the secrets they reveal change every aspect of that which comes prior.

I warn you - this book is billed as, and definitely counts as incredibly dark. With it's dark outlook on humanity in general, doubts about the existence or goodness of God, and general tone of despair (maybe too strong of a word?) you may very well end up in funk when you finish reading.
