Can't quite make up my mind about this one. I liked most of the book, and how the stories can stand on their own even though they're interconnected. The "Petersburg" section bored me almost to tears, though, but "Clear Island" redeemed the book for me. "Underground" I do not get, and I'm probably being dense because I can't really see the connection between it and the first story and everything -- I can't quite wrap my mind around what happened in that last chapter, I suppose.

I can say this, though: now I'm definitely a fan of David Mitchell. I'm looking forward to his next book.
