I enjoyed this book. John Grogan was the man who wrote Marley and Me, an account of his dog and family, which was made into a movie. In this book, he recounts his life from childhood to adult. He spends a lot of time on his childhood, briefly touches his college days and young married years, before focusing once again on his life during middle-age. I really feel he wrote the book as a tribute to his father, possibly providing therapeutic value to himself. There is quite a bit of information that I could have done without where he describes the thoughts and feelings of young men, but it was done with humor and fairly good taste so it was not offensive. He also talks about his Catholic upbringing quite a bit which I found interesting.

It was an easy and entertaining read for the most part.
