Eh. I wouldn't bother. I had really high hopes for this book and was rather dazzled by the first story (about a tiger who mauls his keeper out of love), but most of the rest fell short. I found the stories to be kind of stiff. I understand that this collection was intended to show the joys and brutality of love, but I never connected with any of the characters.

The one other highlight was a futuristic story about a surveillance agent who is in trouble for finding out too much information about the person she is watching. The thing that made it interesting is that any actual detail from the story has been redacted. I thought it was interesting that it was possible to get a sense of the character without knowing anything about her as simple as her name, her job, where she works or why she's following someone.

I also thought the audiobook readers were creepy.

It was a good example of book cover blinders - I mean, look at that beautiful cover!
