The Serpent's Shadow
Rick Riordan

Summary:

Despite their best efforts, Carter and Sade Kane can’t seem to keep Apophis, the chaos snake, down. Now Carter and Sadie must find a way to revive Ra, the Sun God and Apophis's mortal enemy, and help him regain his throne. With pressure and guidance from Isis and Horus, Carter and Sadie set off to find Apophis shadow, and preform a extraction spell that will banish the serpent deep into the Duat. Sadie is struggling with trying to find a way to save Walt Stone, but still having strong feelings for Anubis, the God of Death, while Carter struggles to overcome his feelings for Zia. To find the shadow, they visit Thoth, the God of wisdom and find out who and what can help them. A scheming, lying magician who knows where the Book of Thoth is. But he is also dead. With the help of the magician, Sadie and Walt find Bess's shadow and returns it back to him, returning it back to him. Meanwhile Carter and Zia and the ghost magician go and find the Book of Thoth which has information on where to find the shadow. But the magician has other ideas. He double crosses them in the Duat, in the Land of Demons, and tries to get Bloodstained Blade to kill Carter and Zia. Bess, Sadie and Walt arrive just in time and help recapture the evil magician. They take the book to the obelisk of Ma'at. There they find that Zia is actually hosting a god. Ra. In the end they combine forces with the house of life and banish Apophis into the Duat.

I rate this book five stars because of the action, adventure and edge of your seat, page turning excitement!

I would reccomend it to anyone who has read the other books, and I would say that you would want to read this series if you love Riordan's books or love Egyptian stuff.
