I loved this play when I first read it. It was the sixties and absurdism was all the rage. Now it doesn't quite have the luster it used to have. It is one that has become a bit dated. The story; three guys sit in the middle of nowhere under a tree and wait for Godot and philosophize. The play is ripe for many interpretations: era, culture, socio-economic level, etc. as the setting for this exercise in waiting.
