Okay, I’m hooked on the Women’s Murder Club books even though they are fairly shallow. They make for fast reads. In this one, Lindsay and her partner have a puzzling case. Drug dealers keep being shot dead. It’s done so professionally that their boss decides it’s probably a rogue cop using guns from their own evidence locker. So Lindsay and Rich have to try to track down the murderer, and since it might be a cop, it involves investigating friends. Then, at a millionaire’s estate, they dig up seven heads without the bodies. They seem to belong to beautiful girls, but until they find the bodies, they won’t be able to verify who they are, and of course who killed them. Lindsay sees a picture in the paper of her husband, Joe, with a former partner, and they look very intimate. The former partner, June, calls Joe on his phone, but he’s sleeping and Lindsay answers. She asks June point blank if she and Joe are lovers, and she says they are. Joe denies this but it takes a long time for Lindsay to sort it out and believe him. As I said, a fast and relaxing read.
