Okay, so I didn't think Christian could get anymore awesome, but he did. As I said in my review of Fifty Shades of Grey, he is the kind of hero I'm most drawn to, and in this book he's more of the same. Intense, brooding, demanding.... darker.

Ana still isn't drawing me in, though I do like her better than I did in Grey. She seems to have matured some, thank heavens, but she still does some incredibly annoying things that to me just aren't in keeping with her personality, or with who we are supposed to believe she is.

The story in this book is much, much better! Great plot, twists and turns to keep things interesting, characters to loathe and the sex is more than hot and plentiful!

Breakdown:

Christian - 5 stars
Ana - 3.5 stars
Story - 5 stars
Sex - 4.5 stars
Overall - 4.5

~V~ Yay! Glad you liked this one better Dhes!! :)

UniquelyMoi ~ 1-Click RockChick Very much so, V! I know I'm in the minority with books 1 and 3, but I can't help how I feel about them, you know? Ana is really the only thing that kept them all from being 4.5 or higher. I can overlook a lot of things, but not a crappy heroine. She just didn't do it for me, but in this book I really thought she was coming into her own.

Sharon ✽ is an emotional book junkie ✽ i love how u do ur Breakdown! LOL @ sex!!

Damn straight! LOL!! Especially when this trilogy is dubbed "Porn for Women"!!!! LOL!

Rhonda I'm so glad you love Christian!

UniquelyMoi ~ 1-Click RockChick Oh, yes. He's right up there as an all time favorite!

Rhonda I saw you were reading these, and was waiting to see what you thought. This series makes me kinda twitchy. Lol

Tori Book 2 was my favorite too.

Rhonda I haven't read book 3, I've been saving it. I know it's the last, sometimes I'm nerdy like that.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like that, 'twitchy.'

The thing is, in MY opinion, this trilogy is NOT a good introduction to BDSM for anyone who hasn't read it before. There's not enough insight into the mindset, the thinking, the desires... to really accept that Christian and Ana are really in the lifestyle and not just experimenting, but Christian is supposedly well versed in it all....

*sigh*

I have to keep reminding myself.. fiction, fiction, fiction...

Rhonda D, I agree on all that.
It's a fun series and thanks to E.L. I've been reading more contemporary romance, and erotica too.

And that's what's most important... the author instilling in you the desire to read more!

Ironically, it's was Stephenie Myer who got me hooked on the Black Dagger Brotherhood because once I read Twilight, I was on the hunt for ALL things vampire!

I love Christian too. He definitely makes the series. Who are your other favorite intense, brooding, tortured heroes?

UniquelyMoi ~ 1-Click RockChick Oh, gosh... Kristen Ashley writes some great non-PNR brooding, OTT, caveman obnoxious alphas. The Brotherhood in JR WARD's Black Dagger Brotherhood are also dark and brooding.

I have a shelf dedicated to tortured and tormented heroes.

Searock "caveman obnoxious alphas"

Amanda The Book Slayer I like your break down idea. I totally agree! :0)

UniquelyMoi ~ 1-Click RockChick Thanks! There are so many components to these books that breaking it down was the only way I could do it.
