Reads like a mix of the Bill Bixby Hulk TV show and the creepiest Stephen King novel.
Alec Holland shows up again, knowing he is destined to become Swamp Thing, but not really wanting to, deciding instead to stay a man and try to stop the 'great coming evil!'.

I was skeptical of a Swamp Thing series where the title character doesn't actually show up, but it was interesting getting Alec's view on his 'destiny' and the strange world the Swamp Thing exists in.

Nice creepy vibe runs through the stories, and while not a huge fan of the series being all about this endless war between the Rot and the Green, the main bad guy is genuinely menacing and disturbing.

An interesting re-invention of a classic character and one of the more solid reads to come out of Dc's New 52.
