Jasper Rabbit loves eating the wild carrots that grow in Crackenhopper Field. But one day, he starts seeing creepy carrots everywhere. The second he calls for his mom or dad, though, they seem to disappear. Are the creepy carrots following him?

I loved this picture book, especially Peter Brown's illustrations. Jasper Rabbit and even the malevolent carrots were really adorable, but the black and white faded backgrounds (everything is black and white except the carrots and the objects Jasper mistakes them for) have a Twilight Zone sort of effect. There's nothing really scary about it, unless you were maybe about two years old. But this book would be fantastic for a preschool Halloween storytime, or even a rabbit or vegetable one!
