The beginning was a tad hard for me to get into, but after a certain point, I couldn't put it down. A parallel tale of 2 women - a documentary filmmaker in NYC and a woman living in Japan. Both struggling with relationships and trying to figure out how to make sense of their lives. Both are strong but in different ways. The central focus of the story is meat and you certainly learn a lot about it during the course of the book. I really, really enjoyed this!
