Wow. This needs to be required reading for ALL students studying WW2. So often the incredible suffering of the civilians is completely ignored to focus on the glorious battles, but this is filled with page after page of unfiltered truth. Such an unbearably sad autobiographical manga, and this is just the first one! I need to keep reading it though, because I refuse to let the story of Hiroshima be forgotten. Let it be know though, at least in this first manga, the villain is NOT AT ALL America, but instead it is every Japanese person around the protagonist's family. Be strong and get through this graphic novel, it's an important one.
