This book caught my eye after learning about the Hydes in an exhibit at the Kolb Studio during a recent visit to Grand Canyon. I don't usually buy books in the junk shops, but I thought about this one all day, so went back and bought it, and I'm glad I did. It's a quick read, but the author is thorough and thoughtful in his research. He discusses many of the myths and mysteries surrounding the Hydes, but doesn't indulge in sensationalism. Glad I picked the book up. Now, to make my own trip on the Colorado-- just not in a scow!
