I did what most people avoid and read this book after seeing the original Swedish film but despite that fact the book was able to stand alone and be an amazing work of fiction.
Lisbeth's character is the most complex and intriguing that I have ever come across, I don't know whether I want to be her or be her Mikael (only I'm sure that if I was it would not have ended the way it did).
This is one of the first crime novels I've read where I really didn't know what the next page would hold; even after watching the film, the book had so many surprises and twists in the story that it's been all I've thought about between reading.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who like me is fascinated with forensics, crime, out of the ordinary characters and a book that consumes you for the time in which you read it.
An excellent work of crime fiction!
