I have never seen Jersey Shore so I only know the author by reputation. There were things I liked and things I didn't like about this book. What I didn't like: Every single character is of substandard intelligence and extremely self-centered. It is really hard to root for anyone when they come across as arrogant and stupid. There were some words (Guido slang?) that I didn't know and that are never defined. I could figure a few of them out due to context but not all of them. This book needs a guido glossary. The plot is weak (but there is one!) and I don't think there was enough of a conflict. Now, having said that, there were parts that I really enjoyed. The main characters are wacky and funny which makes up for a lot of shortcomings. The writing style is whimsical (and head-scratchingly odd but not annoying) and fun. I liked - but didn't love - this book. *I received this book free through a goodreads giveaway*
