Andrea's review
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer
I'd like to be able to give this one 3 1/2 stars. The epistolary nature of the novel was fun, but it seemed a bit forced at the end. I also felt that a format with a bit more narration around the letters would have given the writers the space to create a bit more depth to the place and the characters.
The ending felt like it was wrapped up a bit too quickly, but these are the picky bits about what was overall an enjoyable read. This shows the benefits and limitations of a novel in letters format.
