Jacque Pierce is weeks away from starting her senior year, with her two best friends Sally and Jen, as always, at her side. They all take an interest when a sexy new exchange student moves in across the street from Jacque...but he seems to have an instant connection with her.
His name is Fane, and as Jacque comes to learn, he is the prince of the Romanian pack of grey wolves. And he has come to Texas for one reason only--to claim Jacque as his mate. Jacque's world is quickly thrown into chaos, and she barely has time to come to terms with what is happening between her and Fane when another wolf steps in to claim her. Things are definitely interesting in Coldspring, Texas now.
This is the best werewolf book I've ever read! Quinn Loftis really did her research on the animal aspect of the characters, and the werewolves are a nice mix of human and barely contained animal. Fane makes Sam from Linger look like a Pomeranian!
Jacque and Fane's connection is instant, this is true, but it doesn't have that same annoying instalove feel I hate in other books. Fane has found his soulmate, but that doesn't mean Jacque is necessarily gonna be cool with that!
I love, love, love Jacque and especially her friends Jen and Sally! She tells them everything, and they are always there for her through whatever she needs, whether it be a shoulder to cry on or to lighten her mood. Jen is hilarious and literally made me laugh out loud with her comments several times.
The book is told in slternating POV chapters, but the plot is quick paced and the different POV's don't often overlap the same points. The action was always under the surface and the ending was so awesome.
I already started the next book and I can't get enough!!
