With "Last Man Standing", David Baldacci serves up a complex tale which fans of contemporaries such as Brad Thor and Lee Child should enjoy. The hero (Web London) is cut from much the same cloth as the central characters offered up by those fellow authors. Baldacci weaves a fine thriller, but like many others, he wraps it all up a little too neatly as all the clues suddenly fall into place and all the bad guys get their due. Certainly, most readers can't expect much more than that .. but I can't shake the feeling that Baldacci has the talent to offer a great deal more and I'll keep reading until that suspicion bears fruit.
