American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang
This is a well-illustrated graphic novel, but most importantly, it is well-written. Luen Yang weaves three seemingly incongruous tales of different genres into a tidy and satisfying conclusion. Although you probably could finish this story while standing in the bookstore aisle, this would be a great addition to any reader's collection of graphic novels.
