Alleyne's story has a unique set-up in that it overlaps with Morgan's story AND that he's completely short of his memory. Rachel's introduction was handled in a really interesting way - it took a bit to figure out that she wasn't a lady of the night, just living at the house due to a major financial misstep (Regency-era phishing scam, wow). Plenty of memorable side-characters.

That said, it took away a bit of the man-with-amnesia mystique to have the narrator call him "Alleyne" while Rachel & Co. called him "Jonathan" - a mite on the confusing/annoying side.
