Bone Dressing is a book with an interesting concept: past lives/reincarnation. Unfortunately, the concept really isn't spelled out until about half-way through the book. Up until that point the MC, Syd, goes through some typical teen-ager scenes (conflicts with a teacher, hanging with bff, classmate hijinks, foster parent drama) and some not-quite typical teen-ager scenes (encountering Remy/Beau, Sarah, and TJ the black panther in the graveyard). I think the murky concept and Syd's sometimes over-long snarky inner monologues are my biggest complaints about this story. This is the first in a series, so I'm hoping the next books have a quicker pace now that the reincarnation concept is more fully into play.
