really liked it

I'm all for a prequel to a beloved series, but I still can't decide if this one was really worth the effort. There felt to be hardly any sort of connection between the characters of Maze Runner, except for a little prologue that predated the first pages of Maze Runner. The biggest upset was that there was no connection to the end of The Death Cure, which, in many ways, irks me more. I really wanted to know who the operative(s) are/is. I liked the character Alec, and Mark was alright. DeeDee could be any one character that we've seen in later installments, but I still don't know. Maybe I missed something in the big picture. Maybe I read too quickly and didn't absorb everything that I needed to absorb. Regardless, this installment, while enjoyable due to its zombie bandwagon approach, was a little too light on the connections.
