**My FULL REVIEW here!**
Slade didn't have an easy upbringing. He grew up in a trailer with his hard-working single mom, Callie. His father was a very wealthy, well known rancher who never acknowledged that Slade was his son. Fast forward to present day and Slade is the Sheriff of Parable with dreams of buying a plot of land and becoming a rancher.
When Slade's father passes away, Slade goes to the funeral, but stays on the outskirts so he won't be seen and expects that to be the last he has to think of his father. Until, that is, he finds out his father has finally acknowledged him....even if it was after his death. Slade now finds himself owning half of everything that was his fathers. Half of his money (millions), and half of Whisper Creek Ranch. The other half? Owned by his half-brother, Hutch. The brother that was legitimate, acknowledged, and accepted. Hutch offers several times to buy Slade's half of the ranch but Slade needs time to think about that.
Joslyn was the popular, rich, beautiful girl growing up. She was also Hutch's girlfriend in high school. Should be easy for her to move back to Parable, but since her step-father scammed a lot of the town residents out of their money, Joslyn is going to have a tougher time that that to be accepted again. She takes a job at Kendra (her best friend)'s real estate business after moving back to town and hopes for the best, that the residents can forgive her of her step-fathers wrong doings. Then, she runs into Slade, and Sparks fly.
