A very quick and rather entertaining read, recounting a year in the life of perpetual singleton Bridget Jones.

Although I've not been single for a very long time, I still found it very easy to relate to Bridget (especially with all of the calorie counting weight obsession and chiding of oneself for smoking, although I never even attempt to give up) and found her a very likeable character and while the romance aspect was fairly predictable, it was still fun getting to the conclusion.

Just one minor niggle - as the heaviest Bridget ever reaches in the book is 9st5, and has a thigh circumference that most of us can only dream of, I'd like to issue a big fuck you to everyone who's helped bring about the popular misconception that Bridget is overweight.
