I had to put this down simply because of the narrator's voice.

I just finished the kindle sample, and will not be continuing. The book is told from narrator's perspective, and it's atrocious. He's kind of a dead beat - which is fine, he's a character, and should have some kind of distinguishing traits or we wouldn't be reading this. But combine that lazyness of spirit along with the lazyness of the prose - the dialogue doesn't use quotation marks - and it's just to much for me. Granted, the author is going for an effect, and I think he's getting his point across and setting a tone for this character, but I simply don't want to deal with it.
